About Dr. Shah
Harsh A. Shah, M.D., a New Jersey native who specializes in elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand surgery. He treats patients at the Eatontown, Freehold, and Toms River offices.
Dr. Shah studied Physics and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University – New Brunswick where he graduated summa cum laude. He continued at Rutgers – UMDNJ in Newark for medical school, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha society. He completed the comprehensive orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital program, where he treated a wide range of patients and conditions. He then completed the Hand, Upper extremity, and Microvascular Surgery Fellowship at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
He has provided upper extremity care across all ages and has treated both professional and recreational athletes as part of his training. His professional philosophy emphasizes individualized treatment plans, with or without surgery, to help his patients get back to doing what they love.
He employs innovative techniques such as safe and comfortable wide-awake surgery and minimally-invasive management of traumatic and degenerative upper extremity issues.
Dr. Shah is board eligible for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a candidate member of the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Shah has authored peer-reviewed publications and textbooks chapters on topics such as trigger finger, hand and wrist arthritis, carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, and distal radius fractures.
When he is not working, Dr. Shah enjoys playing basketball, watching football, and spending quality time with his wife and dog, friends, and family.
